Hi and thank you for actually reading the “About Me” section!
Can you believe a farm kid from SW Kansas is an awarding winning broadcast journalist and MarComm (Marketing/Communication) video producer? I’ve earned 25 regional Emmys, two Tellys, numerous national Edward R. Murrow and National Press Photographer awards during my career. It’s a commitment to everyday excellence that drives me. One of the many things my parents taught me and my three brothers growing up.
I also coach, mentor, and teach professionals and students, building "good workplace citizens."
I am happy to use my skills and positive attitude to help you and your company find success.


Skills
VIDEO
It's not just about pretty pictures. I produce, shoot, light, edit, build graphics in two different worlds - Corporate communications and marketing, and Visual journalism. To make my work memorable in the field or the studio, I concentrate on making things look great and impactful storytelling. BTW, I am also a drone operator.
PHOTOGRAPHY
I shoot formal headhots and corporate group shots, but really love using my visual journalism background to capture moments and interesting compositions to make my work standout.
EDITING
I have earned regional Emmys for my video editing and storytelling. Also, I am a big fan of the Adobe Creative Suite for working on video, audio, and photos!
SOCIAL MEDIA
Creating content for social media can be fun, serious, and informative. My philosophy is to use the right style for the content, but don't forget to grab the attention of your audience. "But can you do it in wide screen or vertical?" YES!
PRODUCER
I'm more than "just a photographer." I can look at any project from a 10,000 foot view to see what needs to be done as a planner, field producer, writer, photographer, and editor.
CONSULTANT
Want to know how to make your project stand out and how to pitch it to the media? I have more than 30 years of experience in broadcast and digital journalism, working in the Kansas City and Minneapolis, Minnesota, with ties to NBC and CNN.
